ThermOil Testimonials Marine & Houseboat Industry
Chris Johnson
In today’s world where there are so many products sold with claims of increased reliability and performance it is sometimes hard to find one that actually does. With this said, I am very pleased to say ThermOil not only meets, but exceeds my expectations. It does so by allowing me to spend the extra time previously spent maintaining my batteries on other important items.

Terry,
We have operated houseboats on Lake Powell for many years. Anyone familiar with this area knows how harsh this environment can be and the extremes in temperatures that are possible. Power for all of the equipment and appliances on these houseboats are provided by generator or by large numbers of 6 and 12 volt storage batteries.

I’m an obsessive angler and a fishing guide, on the water from spring through late fall, and that translates into a lot of fishing. Which means a lot of work for my trolling motor batteries. I use Thermoil in those batteries religiously.

Hello Thermoil,
I have one question for you. How long do these Thermoil 6-volt golf cart batteries last? I have a 16 ft. jon boat with a 50 lb. thrust trolling motor. I fish the Wolf River here in Wisconsin for walleyes every chance I get.
Larry Smith
I have been guiding and fishing tournaments now for the past 10 years. The tournaments that I have fished include the MWC, Cabela’s, and the PWT. When I first talked with Thermoil Inc.® about batteries three years ago, I was very speculative.

Now as everybody in Britain is well aware, the weather has not been the best for boating. This has meant that our testing of this product has been a little belated. However not to be put off by a little wind and rain, Sea-Fishing.com braved the worst to review Thermoil Inc’s Thermoil Battery Additive.

This question is for boat owners who fish a lot: How long does your trolling motor’s deep-cycle battery last? Yeah, mine too. Disgusting, isn’t it, considering how much those suckers cost? How would you like to buy your next battery a little refreshment, sort of a shot and a beer to cheer up a hard worker who’s in for a long tough summer?

Dear Terry,
Just wanted to drop you a line to say my Thermoil Batteries, and I believe there are ten (10) of them now in use on three different vessels, all are operating flawlessly. None has consumed any electrolyte – the tops of the batteries are dry – there is no corrosion. On one of the vessels, the deep cycles are in a very confined space and there in not even any smell of gassing. We intend to replace eight (8) batteries on out 68’ vessel here in the near future, all with Thermoil batteries. We have researched the Interstate™ batteries, the gel batteries, and the Concorde sealed AGM batteries, and dollar for dollar the Thermoil batteries are hard to beat. They are as maintenance free as a gel; they are as gas free as a gel; they are not nearly as susceptible to the shortcomings of a gel with regard to recharging. As far as I am concerned, as well as the individuals now using your batteries under my watchful eye as a marine surveyor and consultant, we are all ecstatic and I only wish the general public could be made more aware of the great properties of the Thermoil Batteries.
Sincerely,
WRL

Dear Thermoil,
I wanted to let you know how your batteries have changed my thinking. I’m a serious tournament fisherman and spend several days a year on the water. Its not unlikely for me to fish 12 and 14 hour days. When I’m not tournament fishing then I’m just fishing for fun. I have had three of your Motor Guide Thermoil batteries in my boat for four years. During those four years I rarely had to add water, never needed to clean corrosion, and I was never stranded with a dead battery. On top of being very low maintenance your batteries have outlasted any other brand I’m tried. Normally I would replace my boats trolling motor batteries every two years. The Motor Guide Thermoil batteries have saved me time by being low maintenance and have saved me money by lasting twice as long as other brands.
Thank you for such a good product and for allowing me more time to do what is really important… FISH!

Hi, I have had varying success with different brands of batteries and need two new ones for my boat to run my electric motor and depth finders. Any recommendations you could provide would be appreciated. I will certainly be adding Thermoil because it seems like the water/acid was almost totally gone after only two trips last year.
Thanks!

I have used batteries with the Thermoil treatment in my many boats and I like it .They last longer and I don’t have to check water as often.

Just wanted to drop you a line to let you know that these are the best batteries that I have ever owned. Just got the boat out last week and went fishing and trolled most of the day and the batteries are still holding up great. I can’t believe it, this will be the 6th year now and there is still no corrosion and I’ve only added water twice. I have to say that I fish every chance that I get which is about 150 days a year or so and would always have to buy new batteries every other year. For the little extra money that the Thermoil Batteries cost, it sure was worth every penny and was money well spent. I figure that I have already saved about $260.00 because every two years I would have to buy two batteries for my 24-volt trolling motor at around $65.00 each and believe me I think I’ve tried them all over the last 20 years or so. Anyway I just wanted to let you know this and I will recommend your batteries to everyone that I know. I will drop you a line when the batteries finally give out but who knows when that we be. I wish you much success with your business, you have a great product.

As I explained when I first bought this battery, the weakest link in my boat gear has always been the trolling motor battery. Because I have to recharge them so often, standard batteries are always wimped out by the end of a season. Which means buying new battery each spring. This spring I’m entering an unprecedented fourth year with the same 12 volt Thermoil battery. As an outdoor writer and guide I fish from March into November, I’m on the water four to six days a week, and I recharge my battery after each fishing trip. That’s a lot of recharging. The Thermoil battery has suffered the same abuse and neglect as it’s predecessors — low water levels twice, uncharged “”sit”” time longer than a week at one point and constant several-times-a-week recharging for three years — yet like that pink bunny with the drum, it keeps on going.
I know that eventually I’ll have to replace that battery, but I can guarantee that it’s replacement won’t be anything but a battery protected by Thermoil. Thanks again for beefing up my weakest link.
